What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s revelation to Man and that it is fully and verbally inspired of God. We believe the Bible to be the inerrant, infallible and completely preserved Word of God and is the absolute and final authority for faith and life. We believe the King James Version to be the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people today. (Psa 12:6–7, 18:30; Isa 34:16, 40:8; 2 Tim 3:15-17; 1 Pet 1:23-25; 2 Pet 1:19-21)
God
We believe in one God; eternal, self-existent, infinite, sovereign, and immutable. We believe He has one nature, one essence, and one substance; yet manifests Himself to man in three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe He is the creator of the heavens and the Earth. (Gen 1:1; Deut 6:4; Psa 90:2; 1 Tim 1:17, 2:5; Heb 13:8; Jam 1:17; 1 John 5:7)
Jesus Christ
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. We believe Jesus Christ to be the one and only Savior of mankind who is eternally God. We believe He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary, that He was God incarnate. We believe the purposes of the incarnation were to reveal God and redeem men. We believe Jesus Christ was fully man and fully God and that He never surrendered any attributes of His Deity, but merely veiled them (Deity wrapped in humanity). We believe He lived a perfect, sinless life, at the end of which He was offered for all mankind as a substitutionary atonement for man's sin. This sacrifice was a just payment to God for the forgiveness of sin. We believe that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. We believe Jesus is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is interceding as our High Priest today. (Psa 2:7-9; Isa 7:14, 9:6, 43:11; Mic 5:2; Matt 1:25; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1, 1:3, 14, 18, 29; Rom 3:19-25, 5:6-15; Phil 2:5-11; 1 Tim 2:5, 3:16; Titus 2:10-15; Heb 7:26, 9:24-28; 1 Pet 1:19)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit of God is a person as He possesses a personality as well as all the attributes of Deity. We believe the Holy Spirit was sent from God as promised, to guide us to the truth, convict the world of sin, to glorify Jesus, and to transform the lives of believers into the likeness of Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit is an equal part of the Godhead and has always been involved in the affairs of mankind. We believe the Holy Spirit was also sent to sanctify, seal, and fill all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. (Gen 1:2; John 3:5-6, 14:16, 26; Acts 1:5, 11:15, 16:6-7; Rom 8:27, 15:30; 1 Cor 3:16, 6:19-20, 12:13; Eph 1:13, 4:30; 1 John 5:7)
Satan The Devil
We believe Satan is a real, created being that was once holy and enjoyed heavenly honors, but through pride and selfish ambition to set himself higher than God he fell and drew a third of the angels with him. He is now the prince and power of the air and unholy god of this world. He is man’s great tempter, the enemy of God the Father and Jesus Christ, the accuser of the brethren, the author of false religions, and the chief source of the present apostasy. He is the lord of the anti-Christ, the author of all the powers of darkness, destined to final defeat at the hands of God’s Son and the judgment of an eternal punishment in the lake of fire; a place prepared for him and the fallen angels. (Isa 14:12-25; Eze 28:12-17; Matt 4:1-11, 13:25, 25:41; Mark 13:21-22; John 14:30; Eph 2:2; 1 Thes 3:5; 1 Pet 5:8-9; 2 Pet 2:4; 1 John 3:8, 4:3; Jude 6; Rev 13:13-14, 20:1-3, 10-15)
Sin
We believe all men were born with an inherited sin nature. Sin came to all men because of Adam's disobedience (Romans 5:12). Given that Adam's sin was passed to all men we all have a sin nature (Jer 17:9; Isa 53:6) for all men have sinned (Romans 3:10; 23; Psa 51:5). We believe that because of his nature, man is a sinner by choice, and he is totally incapable of ceasing from his sin through his own power. I believe total depravity describes man's spiritual condition of which he is dead in his trespasses and sins (Eph 2:1-3). There is no limit to how much man can sin, which means all men are sinful (Rom 3:10:23). We believe the only hope of deliverance for man is a total change of mind concerning his sinful condition and inability to change it, and a turning to Jesus Christ as the only Savior (Repentance). (Gen 5:1-5; Acts 4:19, 16:31; Rom 3:10-23, 5:6-12, 6:23)
Salvation
We believe that salvation is the free gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe He is the only way of Salvation and that His precious blood which was spilled at Calvary is what is needed for the forgiveness of our sins. We believe salvation is immediate and that it changes us into a new creation and that salvation cannot be earned through any form of works. We believe salvation is a free gift that is received when man believes by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at the Cross of Calvary and confesses and repents of his sin. (Matt 12:31-32; John 1:12, 3:16; Rom 10:9-13; 2 Cor 5:17; Eph 2:8-10; Heb 9:22; 1 John 1:9, 2:2)
Eternal Security
We believe that anyone who has genuinely trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior is saved for all eternity. We believe when a person is genuinely saved, they are saved for eternity because we are kept by God’s power and secured in Christ forever. (John 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Rom 8:1, 38-39; 1 Cor 1:4-8; Eph 1:14, 4:30; 1 Pet 1:4-5)
The Church
We believe the head of the church is Jesus Christ and that the church is established at the death of Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. We believe the local church is composed of members who have been saved and baptized according to the command of Christ, and they assemble together for the purposes of worship, fellowship, service, and to observe the ordinances of baptism and Lord’s supper. We believe all true believers will be taken up at the rapture, just prior to the Great Tribulation which occurs at Daniel’s 70th week. (Matt 16:16-18, Acts 1:15, 2:41-43, 11:15, 20:28; 1 Cor 15:51-58; Eph 1:12-14, 5:25-30; 1 Thes 4:13-18; 1 Tim 3:4-15)
Separation
We believe that all saved people should live in such a manner as to bring honor upon our Lord Jesus Christ. God commands His people to be holy and to separate from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices, and associations. Believers are to be in the world but not of the world and all believers should abstain from any appearance of evil. We believe the Church should be separated from people, organizations and churches that challenge the authority and doctrine of the Word of God. (Amos 3:3; Rom 12:1-2, 14:13, 16:17; 1 Cor 6:19-20; 2 Cor 6:14-17; 2 Thes 3:14; 2 Tim 3:1-5; 1 Pet 1:15-16; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 John 9-11; Jude 3)
The Last Days
We believe in the literal interpretation of the Scriptures in their grammatical and historical context. We believe in the rapture of the church saints prior to the great tribulation which occurs at Daniel’s 70th week. We believe in the pre-millennial return of Christ to the earth and His literal rule of 1,000 years. Following this one-thousand-year reign is the Great White Throne judgment and then the new heaven and new earth. (1 Cor 15:51-58; 1 Thes 4:13-18, 5:1-9; Rev 19-22)
The Eternal State
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life with the Lord in heaven, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting torment with Satan in a literal hell. (Matt 25:46; John 5:28-29, 11:25-26; Rev 20:5-6, 12-13)
